Johnson’s Pumpkin Farm is a seasonal farm in Saginaw County. We started growing pumpkins in 1985 and sold them roadside. We have grown by leaps and bounds in the last 35 years! Now we have a 13 acre corn maze, old-fashioned hand-cranked cake donuts, a large petting zoo, a full concession stand, 15 decorated acres to wander, weekend events and so much more. Open every day from the second Saturday of September until October 31, Johnson’s has become THE premiere fall destination in mid-Michigan!
We are located on the banks of the Cheboyganing Creek in beautiful Indiantown, Michigan. Take exit 155 off of I-75 onto M-81 east toward Reese/Caro. At the blinking yellow light, turn left onto Portsmouth road. We are about 5 miles down, on the left.
Or put our address into your navigation app:
4715 N Portsmouth Rd Saginaw, MI 48601
PLEASE NOTE: Some GPS will ask you to take a very strange route if coming from the south. Don’t turn off of Portsmouth! Stay on Portsmouth until you get to the farm.
As always, farm admission and parking are both FREE! You only pay for what you choose to do. A la carte style!
Price list (cash and card accepted; ATM on site):

We are a fully operational, 80-acre farm that has been in the same family for 75+ years! When visiting our farm (or any farm), it is advisable to wear boots or other appropriate, comfortable footwear. When we are open to the public in the fall, there are about 20 acres to explore (not even including the 13-acre corn maze)! During hot times, definitely wear sunscreen and hats! During cooler times, definitely bundle up! Johnson’s is open rain or shine!
Farm admission and parking are free. We have several large grass lots available for parking; the front lot is reserved for accessible parking. There are wagons available for customers because pumpkins are heavy!
There are 15 acres of decorated grounds to wander with hand painted cutouts, hand painted informational signs, antique farm implements, farm animals (with quarter machines), giant “thrones” and huge straw character sculptures! So many photo ops! There is a full concession stand with warm food, treats, warm and cold drinks and of course fresh made donuts! We have a 2,000 square foot craft store full of Michigan made items that make wonderful gifts. And a large selection of pumpkins, squash, gourds and other yard decor.
We are very much an outdoor experience (it’s a farm, after all). But we are not a public park; please no outside food and please leave pets and ESA at home (trained service animals welcome). And if you’re thinking “I want to turn my kids loose” (yes, that’s a quote), you’ll have to make a stop to your local playground; all children/minors should be accompanied by an adult.
Our donuts are peanut and tree nut free. They are fried in vegetable shortening (hydrogenated palm oil). We do not offer gluten free donuts.
Donut mix ingredients: wheat flour, sugar, soybean oil, nonfat milk, whey, dextrose, soy flour, salt, leavening (sodium acid pyrophosphate, baking soda, mono calcium phosphate), dried egg yolk, potato flour, nutmeg, natural and artificial flavor.
Most surfaces at the farm are flat, and are either gravel, grass, or mulch. There are ramps for the concession/craft building. The maze is dirt paths, which can get muddy and slippery when wet.
We have a large accessible-only parking lot up front.
We also have one handicap accessible restroom (porta john).
Yes we have wagons available for customers.
Sorry, no animals may accompany you on your visit. It’s a liability thing; trust us, we do actually love dogs just as much as we love people Okay, maybe a little more…
Certified service dogs are welcome, with the exception of our petting zoo area.
We accept cash and most credit cards. If paying by card, our credit card machine company charges a 4% transaction fee. We also have an ATM at the farm for your convenience.
We prefer you didn’t smoke at our farm since hay, straw and cornstalks don’t play well with fire. Thanks for understanding.
We have a full variety of food, drinks and snacks available in our concession area. We kindly ask you save your picnic lunch for a day at the park.

Things don’t always go as planned, sometimes it isn’t all rainbows and lollipops. We want everyone to have a wonderful experience but it doesn’t always happen and we want to hear about it. The only way we can get better is to listen to the good AND the bad. Please share your story of what we can do better and we will do our best to live up to the challenge. Give us a chance and I’m sure we will win you back.
